Insights From My Experience at the SLT Conference

The conference featured a lineup of diverse sessions, each focusing on diverse interests. Here's a glimpse of some of the sessions I had the privilege to attend:

1. A Strengths-based Approach to Mindset Change in Engagement, Wellbeing, and DEI

1. This experiential session was all about harnessing our strengths. We learned to identify strengths within ourselves and others.
2. The session emphasized using a strengths-based approach in talent strategies.
3. Emphasizing strengths within teams can lead to better collaboration. When team members understand each other's strengths, they can leverage them for more effective teamwork and problem-solving.
4. One of the highlights was experiencing a significant shift in our leadership mindset, focusing on purpose and motivation for improved performance.

2. Debate: AI Will Make Humans Obsolete

1. The debate revolved around the controversial topic of Artificial Intelligence making humans obsolete, where Jenne Linn, co-creator of Sophia the Robot herself argued in favor of the topic.
2. With OpenAI's staggering valuation, the influence of AI is undeniable.
3. The passionate debaters engaged in a thought-provoking and fun discussion about the future of AI while also creating a great rapport with the audience.
4. A significant portion of the discussion revolved around the authenticity of thought and the extent to which AI can replace human labor.

3. Women Leading Family Offices: A Force For Good in Asia

1. This session highlighted the changing landscape of family businesses in Asia, with daughters taking the lead in deploying capital for social and environmental good.
2. We explored various aspects, from investing legacy wealth to handling technology disruptions.
3. The session delved into the role of women in shaping ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards in family-owned conglomerates.

4. Entrepreneurship Workshop with Anthony Lacavera

1. This interactive workshop was a golden opportunity to learn from Anthony Lacavera, an experienced entrepreneur and active investor.
2. We had a chance to ask questions and gain valuable insights into the world of entrepreneurship.
3. Entrepreneurship doesn't always have to be about groundbreaking inventions or capturing a massive market share. Making a positive impact on people's lives, even on a small scale, is a meaningful entrepreneurial endeavor. You don't need to be the best in the market; coexistence and collaboration are important, and your unique contribution can still bring value and benefit to others.

5. Panel with Manila Di Giovanni

1. The 22-year-old Manila di Giovanni shared her journey as a technopreneur.
2. She discussed her visionary project of creating the world’s first-ever virtual economy in the metaverse that mirrors the real world.
3. Her inspiring story left us all motivated to dream big and break boundaries.

6. Meet The Experts: Thriving Under Pressure as Founders

1. Although this was meant for founders, I found it helpful since we discussed how to better manage our career and personal lives.
2. We explored strategies to navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship in the tech and startup industry.

The conference also provided a unique platform for networking. The space was all about celebrating the women who are shaping the tech industry. The sessions were informative, the speakers were inspiring. It's safe to say that I left the conference with a renewed sense of purpose and a determination to contribute to the ever-evolving tech world. I am grateful to have received the opportunity to be a part of it.
